The Land Speaks to me

Visit the new Art Gallery at the Tombstone Territorial Park centre, first featuring Darcy McDermot’s botanical paintings, now Jackie Olson’s ‘The Land Speaks to me’ and finally works inspired during her stay here by Artist in Residence Tamika Knutson at Ddhäl Ch’èl Cha Nän (Tombstone Territorial Park). Witnessing the land through the eyes of citizens whose ancestors walked these lands fosters a renewed appreciation for and connection to the land.
.
The area’s Hän name Ddhäl Ch’èl Cha Nän means “ragged mountain land.” The park is a legacy of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Land Claim Agreement and lies within their Traditional Territory.
